Using a combination of Staffordshire pottery and using Photoshop to make the colours change to make them look visually more appealing and exciting

Staffoshire

As I am from Staffordshire and have grown up there, using the basis of pottery and ceramics in general of my heritage project only seemed right. Looking into the different kinds of print as well as how the shapes of plates, cups ect can be formed into one initial idea. Changing colour schemes as well as textures and blending them into one idea will show the progression as well as the use of different styles from my personal heritage. To progress with a collection of six gifs I hope to blend my welsh heritage from my mums side of the family with my home town; I hope to do this my using lace and florals in conjunction with cup and plate designs.

Laura Ashley & Ceramics

To further my research on the use of print and ceramics, I plant to try and blend the two together with the use of changing the texture as well as the use of colours. In doing so it means that it creates ties and links between my story and personal heritage.

Spode Pottery - Staffodshire

Spode ceramics is based on the use of white and blue textures and traditional prints. When it comes to blend my heritage story together I have thought of using the idea of merging the colour schemes of Wedgwood and spode together.

Wedgwood Pottery - Stafforshire

Wedgewood pottery, Staffordshire based ceramic company. Basic colour palettes with cream and white designs on top. The use of these colours means that I could use Photoshop to change the colours and switch between different tones to creates texture and shadow.

David Emanuel - Royal Weddings

Image
David Emanuel designed the wedding dresses for the Royal family, also having a welsh heritage he links in with my project path way.   My design idea for the series of gifs was to merge the royal family dresses with classic welsh print and textiles.  Taking aspects from the lace of the royal wedding dress, changing the colour and tone; by layering them up on photo shop adding texture.
